This was taken during my short visit to Morocco in 2010. The traditional Moroccan houses were built with mudbrick, a mixture of loam, mud, sand and water mixed with a binding material such as rice husks or straw. I'm amazed by how simple and primitive the exteriors of Moroccan houses are, and they're usually juxtaposed with a light filled, beautiful interior, like this one. The colours of their windows are always in bright hues, symbolic perhaps? Fascinating...
